Inspired by the opportunity to make a difference, she joined the People Hub, eager to enhance her job prospects.
In June 2024, Irina took an important step by enrolling in the NHS’s internal programme, reaching out to the People Hub for support with job applications and interviews. With Kirsty’s guidance, Irina was provided with suitable job vacancies and encouraged to complete NHS e-learning courses, making her ‘job-ready’ and strengthening her applications.
Irina’s determination paid off when she secured an interview for a Wellbeing Support Assistant position with Age Concern. With the additional interview support from the NHS, she felt prepared and confident. Her hard work and the collaborative efforts of the People Hub led to a successful interview, and Irina received a job offer shortly after.
Reflecting on her experience, Irina expressed her gratitude: “I was very lucky to work with the NHS through the People Hub. It gave me the opportunity to meet very helpful and friendly people such as Kirsty and Deb, whose experiences and attitudes resonate with my own. My goal is to make people happier, and I believe that by working together, we can achieve great things. Thanks to the People Hub, I now have the job I’ve always wished for, and both my part-time roles focus on helping others!”
Irina now juggles her new part-time role with Age Concern alongside her work at Pants Cancer Charity, both of which reflect her passion for supporting others. Her story is a testament to the positive impact of dedicated programmes like the People Hub in transforming lives.
