Keith joined the SmartMatching Smart Skills Programme – devised to help people who have been made redundant to find their confidence, uncover their passion, learn a cache of smart working skills and bag the best roles as the economy picks up.
‘Redundancy at any time leads to uncertainty but also a potential new opportunity. Redundancy at the end of the year of global pandemic and economic decline means uncertainty increases and opportunities diminish. Having not written a CV or needed to prepare for an interview in over a decade, I felt decidedly lost when this happened to me.
Fortunately, this timing coincided with the launch in Cornwall of the Smart Matching training, led by the magnanimous Ruth and her wonderful team. Work life has shifted online for huge numbers. The remote working debate rages across news and social media. But the Smart team were there – ready in waiting for years. They have all the experience and know-how to support with structure and direction, encouraging growth mindset and mentorship for your journey to maximise ‘superpowers’ for better SmartWorking.
I have felt privileged to be a fledgling student on the program. After 35 years of various employment, I still learnt so much and have had a shot of confidence so that I feel well prepared for entering the job market among so many competitors. Ruth has been highly supportive and cares personally about my future success, filling me with insightful ideas. Olly is the polished presenter of the thought provoking lessons, who has stretched and challenged my thinking to exercise my brain – much like a personal trainer does with enhancing the body!
My journey continues and I am firmly on the path of smart working my way to success. Thank you to the Smart Matching team and I can wholeheartedly recommend the course to anyone, whatever stage in their own career journey.’
